Radiation is energy that is being transmitted. Energy of the radiation is dependent upon its frequency or wavelength. The higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength, the higher the energy.
We can detect some of these radiations using our senses of sight and touch. For instance we can see visable light, but are unable to see Infared light. We can feel the warmth from Infared light, but we can not feel ionizing radiation.
